Hey all, I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place, if this question belongs somewhere else, feel free to let me know. My current company has recently moved locations. In the move the brass decided to 'upgrade' our phones to some new RCA phones.
They're awful. Every coworker of mine is complaining and wishing we had our old phones back. In my ignorance I assumed I could just plug our old M7324s back up and be good to go. This is not the case. Plugging them into the phone jack does nothing, the phones dont receive power and are unusable. While I'm fairly proficient with hardware and software on computers, I am lost when it comes to these phones. I'm hoping someone on this forum can point me in the right direction.
I've tried googling an answer to my problem, however I must be using bad keywords because the only guides I can find point to changing the voicemail message, contrast, or other trivial things like that. What am I missing here?
I'm willing to learn anything to get this working. Thanks for any help, Jason (In addition, I've attached a couple of pretty shots of the phones and the switchboardy thing in the back that our current phones are attached to.

If you need anything else from me regarding my situation/requirements please let me know. Thanks again!).
Please excuse my ignorance. The RCA phones connect to that box in the second photo, is that what you are referring to? Or do you mean beyond that, in the mall's server room somewhere? I had a chat with my manager and he's told me these phones need a 'brain' (must be the IP-PBX) and when we moved we left the 'brain' behind.
From reading your comment I've done a little research (with much more to follow) and it looks like I'll need to build one of these PBX servers to get this working. This is fortunate as I have extra computers, hardware, routers, cabling, and time. What I don't have is expertise or experience, however I'm hoping my curiosity and determination will suffice. I do have some questions, though, and would really appreciate someone more knowledgable than myself answering them: Can I actually build an IP-PBX? Can I use the M7324s with it or will I need buy different phones/different PBX?
As far as that switchboardy thing in the photo (is there a more technical name for it?) goes, would I hook it up to the IP-PBX and then the phones from there? What would a good first step be? I'm educating myself right now on call servers and SIP systems, is that the right direction? Thanks again for your help, I love this forum, I've been jumping through different posts and I'm just amazed that something like this exists. Regards, Jason.
